Background
This gene encodes one of two cannabinoid receptors.CNR1 Cannabinoid receptor is associated with the regulation of cognition, memory, and motor activity. The CNR1 receptor mediates cannabinoid-induced CNS effects and the addictive behavior experienced by users of marijuana. Acts by inhibiting adenylate cyclase. Could be a receptor for anandamide. Inhibits L-type Ca(2+) channel current.
